Doctor, 7 Others 'Kidnapped' Patients to Defraud Medicare, Insurance Companies

UPDATE: 6/8/2026 at 5:38 p.m. Brian Hyatt’s attorney withdrew from his state case in May after he was accused of a long-running fraud and kidnapping scheme, in which he targeted patients who had been receiving treatment inside a hospital’s behavioral health unit. Erin Cassinelli filed a motion to withdraw as Hyatt’s counsel on April 30, which a judge in Pulaski County approved in May, according to 479 First.
