Karmelo Anthony Files Notice of Appeal After He Was Found Guilty of Murder
Just two days after Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, he filed a notice of appeal. Filing a notice of appeal is the first step in challenging the conviction before a higher court. Despite filing for the ruling and his sentence to be reconsidered, it is not guaranteed that Anthony, 19, will be granted a new trial.
