Renowned Southern California chef Rainer Schwarz has died following a solo car accident.
Schwarz was driving an Audi on Crown Valley Parkway near Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point, California, on Monday, April 6, when his vehicle veered off the roadway, traveled through landscaping and came to rest in a parking lot, Sgt. Gerard McCann shared with the Orange County Register.
Investigators were working to determine what caused the crash, which occurred just before 5 p.m. and after Schwarz had left one of his restaurants for the day.
