Luigi Mangione plans to assert a psychiatric defense at his state murder trial after he was accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in 2024.
New York Judge Gregory Carro said on Wednesday, June 17, that Mangione’s lawyers informed him they will attempt to show a jury that he was suffering from “extreme emotional disturbance at the time of the occurrence,” according to the Associated Press.
