On Wednesday, February 11, police identified the suspected shooter as 18-year-old Jesse van Rootselaar, according to The New York Times, BBC and CBC. It’s believed that Rootselaar killed her mother and stepbrother at their home before she traveled to the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where she allegedly killed six others.
